Opening Arrangements

Tours are now self-guided and all visitors will be provided with a guidebook and a suggested route around the house. Family members and guides will be available in the house and garden to answer your questions.

If the house is very full when you arrive, you might be asked to come back at a slightly later time to allow people to filter through. Visitors are welcome to look around the gardens and visit the tithe barn or the church while they wait.

Last entry to the house is at 4.30pm to allow visitors sufficient time to look around.

Prices: Adults £6, Senior Citizens £5, Child £1.

Free entry to members of Historic Houses Association. Half-price entry to members of CPRE.

Parking & Disabled Access

There is ample free parking approximately 100 yards from the front door. Disabled visitors are welcome to park on the drive, right next to the house.

Disabled access is only available to the library and dining room and the former servants dining hall. There are steps up to the first and second floors.

Visitors should bear in mind that due to the house’s age, the floors are quite uneven with steps up and down and a mixture of stone flags, floorboards and rugs. Care should be taken when moving around the house.

Tea & Cake

Tea, sandwiches and homemade cakes are available in the summer house on the South side of the house from 3.00pm onwards with all proceeds donated to charity.
